I develop mathematical models and statistical methods for anticipating abrupt transitions in Earth's climate system, working at the intersection of dynamical systems theory, stochastic analysis, and climate science. I am part of the Horizon Europe Research project ClimTip.

About

I am a mathematician and physicist working at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), funded by the Horizon Europe project ClimTip. I am a member of research group for Multiscale and Stochastic Dynamics under Prof. Christian Kuehn at TUM and a guest researcher at the FutureLab AI in the Anthropocene at PIK under Prof. Niklas Boers.

My research focuses on developing mathematical models and statistical methods to characterize and anticipate tipping points in Earth's climate system. I connect stochastic models with observational time series statistics to derive early-warning indicators for climate tipping and explore where such methods might fail. I further investigate the resilience of climate systems to external forcings and perturbations within the framework of dynamical systems theory.
